Selected as 2015 DJSI Industry Group Leader

KT was selected as DJSI Industry Group Leader and has been included in the DJSI World index for the 6th straight year. KT was included in the DJSI Asia Pacific and DJSI Korea index during 2009 and consecutively recognized as one of the company of DJSI World index in September 2010. furthermore, KT was recognized as ‘Industry Group Leader’ in the field of telecommunications for three consecutive years(2011~2013), which is equivalent to being ranked top in the world.

DJSI(Dow Jones Sustainability Index)

DJSI is evaluated by the world’s largest financial information provider Dow Jones and Swiss sustainability evaluation agency SAM, nominating top corporations amongst 2,500 global corporations in the world in terms of superior sustainability. Corporation valuation is not only judged on the financial bases, but also social and environmental contributions and also the vision and the values of the corporation.

UNGC(UN Global Compact)

UN Global Compact is world’s largest voluntary corporation principle based on 10 principles in 4 fields: Human Rights, Labour Standards, Environment and Anti-Corruption. Member corporations share the common belief that a corporation will contribute to bring more stable and prosperous society and world economy with corporation strategy and social beliefs, based on the global principle.

Human Rights Principle 1: Support and respect the protection of internationally proclaimed human rights;
Principle 2: Make sure that they are not complicit in human rights abuses.
Labour Standards Principle 3: The freedom of association and the effective recognition of the right to collective bargaining;
Principle 4: The elimination of all forms of forced and compulsory labor;
Principle 5: The effective abolition of child labor;
Principle 6:The elimination of discrimination in employment and occupation.
Environment Principle 7: CSupport a precautionary approach to environmental challenges;
Principle 8:Undertake initiatives to promote environmental responsibility;
Principle 9:Encourage the development and diffusion of environmentally friendly technologies.
Anti-Corruption Principle 10:Businesses should work against corruption in all its forms, including extortion and bribery.

KT’s position on the Universal Declaration of Human Rights

KT respects the dignity of its stakeholders including employees, strategic partners, and local communities, and supports the human rights standards as stated and defined in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and the International Labor Office (ILO).
KT signed the UN Global Compact, which states the principle for anti-corruption and labor rights guarantees, with the approval of the board of directors.
KT also supports the UN Global Compact through COP(Communication On Progress).
KT promises to do the best to proliferate the significance and culture of respecting human rights to main stakeholders under KT’s influence such as subsidiaries and strategic partners.

KT’s stakeholders are defined as individuals or groups that may affect or be affected by our business. We, at KT, strongly believe that our relationships with stakeholders are KT’s valuable assets that have a significant impact on the success of our business. We make efforts to identify and understand the values, needs, and interests of our stakeholders when it comes to making management plans. We also try our best to reflect such interests and values of our stakeholders in the course of internal decision-making and project implementation.
